Earth Arts is our featured art project this month.  Since 2003, Earth Arts NW has provided environmental-art residencies to thousands of Portland Area School children, including kids at Rigler, Harvey Scott and the Community Transitional Schools, all our Cully Neighborhood.

POCA Tech is a groundbreaking acupuncture school founded by POCA, an International Acupuncture Cooperative. The goal of the school is to train the next generation of Community Acupuncture Practitioners through an affordable, entry-level training program.  The School is scheduled to open in Cully on Sept.1st in the former school building of St. Charles Church at 4317 NE Emerson, Portland OR 97218.  Continue reading “POCA Tech opening in Cully!” →

National Night Out has been celebrated across North America on the first Tuesday of August since 1983. This year’s National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 5th. It’s a day when people hold parties to strengthen community cohesiveness and crime resistance, and get to know their neighbors and their local public safety officials. Every year, more than 20,000 people in Portland participate. The Office of Neighborhood Involvement’s Crime Prevention Program has responsibility for coordinating National Night Out in Portland.
